Post from early June the never went up

June 10, 2012

Check out my nephew, this little guy is awesome and looks pretty good in a Stone Brewing onesey.

I cannot wait until he is big enough to start playing ball with and taking on adventures.

Not as much traveling this spring as last and I have not been abroad yet but I have been keeping busy at home. I have been lucky to get to train with new friends, run with old friends, and race against total strangers so far this year. Petty good athletic start to the year: a couple half marathons, couple Tough Mudders, a triathlon, and a full marathon. All were good times but still uncertain as to how prepared i am for the next big challenge.

Ran the TriRock in Rockwall which was a cool sprint triathlon with my friend Natalie.

Next weekend is Hero Rush with a whole new team then a 5k with some friends on Sunday but those are just a goof and not really good prep for the mountain. I really need to start stair climbing and swimming as much as possible to prepare for Mt. Whitney in a few weeks. Now that the hotel and flights are booked it is time to start really planning for the highest mountain in the lower 48.

Had a great time at some beer events this spring including going in costume to the North Texas Beer Festival. Show up at an event in costume when no one else is and you get a lot of attention, here we are with Michael Peticolas, of Peticolas brewing.

At some point during the festival the silent auction benefiting, Wings Over Dallas, was calling my name with a Fat Tire bicycle. I bid thinking there was no way I would win but sure enough I am now the proud new owner of a beach cruiser.
