Some pictures from far far away, Tanzania

December 20, 2013

So the internet service from Arusha, Tanzania is not great and I have not sorted through the pictures of the two mountains we climbed but both we’re really amazing. Below are a few preliminary pictures before more formal posts once I get home.

Flight delayed after some foul weather at home. Had to depart out of Austin.

Summit bid on Mt. Meru, approx. 15,000 ft for this picture. Thanks GoPro

This was the second time our guide had seen snow on Mt. Meru

Working up the Barrnaco wall. Made us feel like real mountain climbers.

A cool view of the ash cone and summit from Meru. It rained for the first 7 of our 9 days hiking.

Our home away from home for awhile. Libby and I have never spent two weeks together in a tent but things worked out fine. Must be the Nezda spirit.

Our goal for the whole trip. The summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. More pictures soon wanted to get some up while here but we need to prepare for the rest of our journey.
