Finishing early, Motivation to the end of he year

November 8, 2014

This year my big goals were to finish an ultra marathon, an Ironman triathlon, run the Chicago Marathon, and climb Mt. Rainer and Mt. Katahdin. All were completed by October and ever since I have been sort of rudderless. Not sure what it is about goals that keeps every day an invigorating challenge but ever since Ironman Wisconsin something is missing in life. This weekend I am unfortunately traveling for a funeral to visit Ireland which is certainly not the reason I wanted to visit but as always will try to make the best of it. Getting another stamp on the passport is nice even if for a couple days only but feels like I need a proper vacation or a new race, perhaps the Dallas marathon will be a good cure. Below are some pictures since the last post and I will have some more thoughts returning next week but in the mean time will start thinking about wrapping up a busy but successful work year and getting started on a crazy goal list for 2015 with a consideration to make sure the last challenge in 2015 comes in December…..
